I've been so bad about leaving you feedback for this story in the last couple of months. I got behind because of personal drama and then it just kept slipping away. I was actually all set to leave a mash note for you after the last chapter, but that was the night of the not-quite-a-tornado-just-a-big-ass-storm and I lost power. ):
Anyhoo, I'm here now and I'm of mixed feelings. I loved the ending (more details in a sec), but I adored this story liek whoa! and didn't want it to end. It has to be one of my all-time favorites in this fandom.
I told you one time that I had a theory about why Jensen became the way he is. I'm happy to say that I was wrong. Yours is much better. Not so drama lama but more realistic and realism is what this story was all about. Well, that and the epic love of Jared and Jensen. *G*
It wasn't a 'fairy tale' ending in that there wasn't some magic pill or blinding epiphany that returned Jensen to his former life. But it was the perfect ending in that it was happy and the alternative wouldn't have been.
I'm glad Jeff found some peace if not a perfect ending for himself. Donna was a thoroughly classy lady and I'm tickled that Mackenzie found a way to accept what was good for her brother and be glad for him.
The only question I still have about Jensen (and believe me, it is a totally minor thing) is that, since his memory loss of his former life was attributable to organic damage as opposed to psychological, it makes me wonder why Jensen was so afraid of his former self. So determined no to return to what and who he was.
I can see not wanting to be sucked back into his family because that might endanger what he had with Jared. And maybe that's the reason for the fear of his former self, too. Or, I can assume that there was an echo, a residual memory of unhappiness that kept pushing him away from the past. Maybe both.
I know you were all antsy about finishing the story, but fear not, my dear. This was excellent from start to finish.
It's been a great ride. Thanks for taking us all along.
Uh, *koff* and if you want any opinions as to what we'd like you to work on next - I know, I know, your keyboard hasn't even had time to cool off yet - but anyway, I'm dying to find out what happening to Cat!Jared.

Just my 2 cents. *G*
