I really did intend to tell more of how Davis ended up left for dead in an alley but the chance never came up without a "but why wouldn't the cops have found that lead" moment. It was better to leave it unknown I think than to disrupt the suspension of disbelief. Glad that worked for the readers too.

The cool thing is that I found a huge set of resourse links for homelessness after it was all done. Lots of little bunnies in there.
