(no subject)

Paid $20 co-pay for the doc to say "Yup, you cut it pretty bad" and to have a nurse show me how to rebandage the wound.

If it doesn't stick to the wound tomorrow I'll consider it money well spent.

Also, modern science says this is bad, but once I got a ton of minor scrapes when I was about 15. My grandmother put a cap-full of LySol cleaner in a bathtub of warm water and made me soak and not a bit of it got infected.

That sounds like it'd hurt like hell. And these were not minor scrapes--I don't know how fast I was going when I hit the concrete, but it was pretty damn fast, and I left about a square foot of skin on the concrete.

Ooh, ouch.

I don't recommend the LySol because it isn't a chemical you should have in your bloodstream, but it was actually very soothing on the wounds. A lot better than Mercurochrome or peroxide would have been.

(looks up Mercurochrome. Oh, look! Contains Mercury. My childhood was a "what not to do" of medical treatment).
