Okay, seriously? I had my first post-partum period at like 4 months. It's now almost 8 and I've had 6 periods. All heavy but almost cramp-free. Still, a 21 day cycle is not my friend.

I got on birth control not for wild crazy sexy times but because I was having eight day periods every month. Maybe a low dose birth control would give you more regularity? It definitely helped me.

The sad thing is that I've been on the pill since 6 weeks PP. Good suggestion though. Think it's something to talk to a doctor about? Thing is, I don't have a doctor I like at all right now. :( My general doctor is an idiot and I fired my OB.

At what point in your pill pack do you bleed?

[identity profile] ladyjanelly.livejournal.com 2010-01-18 04:11 am (UTC)(link)
it's a continual small dose. Easier on my breastfeeding supply. so randomly in the pill pack I'll have a period. I think I had 3 weeks off once, and once just one week off.

Huh. Well, maybe that's why you're irregular, most pill packs have a 4th week with no placebo pills when you're supposed to start your period.

Er, or rather, the 4th week is placebo.

Randomly, do they still make Surge? I sneer at energy drinking teenagers, I'll admit, but back in the day my dorm had a soda machine with Surge in it and I definitely studied fueled by Surge a time or two.

Heh. I drank it a lot in high school. But no, they don't make it any more!

Vault is apparently very similar, but I've never tried it.

There's probably nothing medically wrong with you, it's just how your body is reacting to things. If you're unhappy though, I would talk to a doctor because we invented pills and stuff for this crap. :) I personally love Planned Parenthood. The PP in my hometown is this incredibly welcoming place where everyone is so concerned about me and what's going on with my body. I started going there because it was cheaper, but stayed because it always felt like such a safe place.
