I'm so sorry. Be sure and post signs as a deterrent also. If they know the dog is in there they'll probably find something else to do.
There can be weird liability issues if you post "Beware of Dog" signs, so maybe put one up that says "Dog in yard". One is saying the dog is dangerous, the other sign is just stating a fact.
No trespassing signs carry a pretty good weight under Texas law so be sure and have some up. I wonder if castle doctrine applies if you don't live in the house yet? I know you won't but you can actually shoot someone if they're breaking into your house after dark and they're running away and you tell them to stop but they don't.
