Your Jared, while still being friendly and extremely personable, *is*...lonelier, maybe? More solitary, at least, than usual in rps. Like he's searching for something, and Sandy's not filling the need, no matter how much they do care about each other. I like the difference, it makes him more "real"-a person, not a fanfic writer's cliche.
I love Jensen's composure. He's obviously been through something painful, emotionally and maybe physically; he's made himself learn and grow from it. Maturity is a wonderful thing! And the way he fits into Jared's life, with his friends and co-workers and even handling the truck with that casual competence (hands, whoo!) and the taking care of the drunk guy with non-judgemental affection-it's all as vastly appealing to me as Jared. *grins*
Not hiding the scar or acting ashamed of it is important. It would be extremely difficult, at best, to be that handsome and then be damaged, even if one *wasn't* an actor. How much did it change his life, in the jobs he was denied and in how people react to him? Makes me thoughtful.
I can see why Jared would be embarassed, but he needs to realize-Jensen kissed him *back*. He was definitely responding before he gathered himself to push Jared away; and his reasons for rejecting the advances were good and valid ones that had nothing to do with not liking it. I like the cause/solution line a *lot*.
I think you're right that Jensen wouldn't use the fact of their working relationship to push Jared away. That's an important point, but it's temporary. Once Holly comes back from her "family situation", they'd be free to pursue things if they wanted...Jared's issues, on the other hand, are not the kind that can, or should be, be quick-fixed. It's an important distinction.
There's just enough pain in this fic to engage the interest without burying the reader in it, you know?
I've got to go to work now (rats!), but I'll be back to luv on you some more later.
