I think Jeff broke his own heart a little with that. While they weren't sexual, there's so much intimacy in taking care of another person in that way. Six years is a long time.

I'm pretty good about warning big-time when I'm gonna completely break the readers. I think the only time I didn't was way back in my Boondock Saints days and I wrote this crazy time-slip reincarnation-fic. I wrote that I wasn't warning, and it was a death-fic and somebody got sad.
