hate collars in fic - This is honestly the first time I've seen one used in a way that makes me really love it.
Jeff--I think his biggest worry over the years has been owning Jared too much, keeping him from finding somebody who could care for him completely. He doesn't want to claim more than he can keep. The collar's nothing but a marker of playtime and not.

I also like their set up with a 1-9 and no offer of ten.
There is a 10, but it's only one step harder than they've ever played before, and I imagine it took years of Jared choosing a 10 for the 8 to be so solid. It allows for escalation, but only slowly. And Jeff can judge how much more than a 9 a 10 can be. Does it still work so well?
