I'm so glad you did ask me to read it - it was a wonderful fic and a wonderful conversation.
Also, having just gone back to re-read for pure enjoyment (because I'm waiting for morning to start your other stuff ) I've realized something else about this fic that hits home in a really good way.
A lot of the appeal for BDSM, fic and real world, for me is that it pushes limits. Doesn't obliterate them but pushes. ALL three of the characters here are being pushed. Jeff is letting go of Jared, who he's taken care of for years. Jared is letting JEnsen in and taking a big risk and exposing a lot of himself and needs and emotion- and there's the physical push with the plug. Jensen's being pushed to understand this.
- I agree, by the way, about it needing to be give and take. Jensen needs to give not just take, and he's new so the give is going to be easier than the take for him. This is all huge for him. it's got to be and I love that.
