He's got a good instinct for what makes Jared feel safe (like freeing Jared's ankles even though he could have done it himself), but yeah, "Performance anxiety" describes it perfectly. I think Jeff'll have to be the go-between on their first play-date, at the least, just to let Jared know Jensen is willing so he'll go to him.

I am as happy to hear the characterization worked for you as I am to hear that it was sexy. To do something with these personalities that we'd never seen a shadow of on interviews or anything was definitely a challenge.

It was easy for me to empathise with the character, but difficult to express that in a way that would please fanfic-readers. I'm thrilled everytime I hear that scene worked.
