I think the problem with a lot of BDSM fic is that while hot as hell, it's always felt a little out of character. The people become someone else when they're in the d/s scene, and that makes them be OOC in the rest of the fic, and it's fun to read but doesn't feel quite right.
I really wanted to have as close to 'canon' Jensen and Jared as possible, and introduce them to this new situation, and create a way for it to be credible.
I could imagine Jared wanting to get out of his head every now and then. I couldnt imagine him wanting to be a full-time slave. He doesnt have time for that. It's all an illusion, because Jeff and Jensen are doing this for Jared, not to Jared. I think that's what a lot of BDSM fic forgets. Or else it just shows the illusion, and not what's behind the curtain, the caring and protectiveness. If that makes sensen.
I'm so glad, every time I read a review where someone wasn't into this sort of fic but loved it anyway. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me your thoughts and reactions.
