I'm not sure if I've said it before, but you've managed to instill a certain gritty realism into each chapter of this story. It's easy to see the trash and the homeless, the bleakness of buildings, Jared's car, the 'safe place'... the artworks Jensen's created. My heart jumped with joy when he found the glass shards, because yes, those are gems.
If only he could get to a beach, find pieces worn by waves...
