Big Bang recs--
I don't have a horse in this race, but it's still making me sad to read the SPN/J2 fic-rec groups this year.
Like--are they reccing every single fic? If so, it's not so much of a rec list as it is a recap of this weeks BB posts.
And if they aren't reccing every single fic, they're reccing so many that those that don't get mentioned might feel sad for being not good enough and all left out and stuff. For some reason it feels exclusional this year. Maybe I'm just in a weird mood...

I'm trying one of those book-in-a-month things to help me organize fic-writing so that there's a plot and ending and stuff to my writing, but I would still probably post as the chapters are done.l
With the baby, I've been leaving the laptop home and writing in little notebooks again. I've got about 8000 words of a hooker!jared fic done--if I can get towards an ending I'll start typing it up.

But I know what you mean. I looked at some of the bigbang rec posts and was like "Huh? Seriously?"

It's kinda tough this years cause I think it's the triple amount of the last years so there are are really a lot which makes it hard to read through them fast enough. There are really good ones this year but oh boy, there are some stories that make you puke your guts out.

Seriously, do you read (or at least start) every J2 fic that's written every day? That's amazing.

I'm trying not to let the recs effect my reading choices but I have seen a couple of fics that I've already read that I agreed with wholeheartedly. (And I've read one or two that I didn't)

I usually pay more attention to a friend saying "read this one fic" than a rec-list that has 5 of this weeks 7 recs on it...

Actually I was hoping to look at some recs for big bangs, I've been so bad about finding time to read them.

I'm way behind too. There's no way to read some of these in a day or even three. They're piling up. I've got one open that's 178,000 words long. HOLY crap!

LUCKILY you are one of them and I love your stuff!!

I think I'll keep writing for my f-list first and foremost and cross-posting when stuff is done like I did for In From the Cold.

On a moderately related topic: I recently graduated from school and we had a portfolio show. One of the students in my class had people looking at the first two pages of her book and then running away from her booth. When I went to see what the issue was (because srsly, these people looked traumatized) I couldn't believe what I saw, "Here is an esample of a corrsat I maid for a clint, she thought it was vary speshul...I lef this to make un till last cause it is totally, like, hard." English is her only language and she had her portfolio printed a week ahead of time.
Vary Spechul indeed -- SPELL CHECK WOULD HAVE CAUGHT THAT.
Me? Rant? Noooooooooo.

I'm pretty good at ignoring typos or whatnot but wow. Some of them are rough. And now that I'm paying attention to "Hmm, are there typos in the first screen of text" I'm seeing them everywhere. Damnation.
Wow. Spechul is right. Ouch.
