As romantic as the idea of going back for Cougar's family is (and what great drama it would make), I think it would end in tears. They've got twenty years of roots in the US, Carlos' sisters are married, their husbands have families, their children are in school, and haven't manifested any powers yet. I think his parents are more attached to the daughters and grand-children they see every day than the broken lost son they see once a year. It would be one of those painful truth moments.
As for going back for a couple van-loads of kids, that could be hilarious. I can see Roque playing momma-bear to a dozen mutie youngsters. :)
I don't think there will be a sequel to this one. I think I told all the story that I wanted to in it. However, I'm 30,000 words into the next Losers AU, if that helps at all. :)
