Piff, the mighty hunter
Nov. 30th, 2007 10:01 amFor the past 3 days, Piff's been sitting in front of the stove, looking into the little crack. We've been joking that there must be a bug or something, and it's like TV for cats.
So. Last night, about half an hour after we went to bed, there's this weird squeeky noise outside our door. My brain was all ?...?...?...MOUSE!
I jump out of bed and wrap my little blanket around my waist and rush out to do battle. Sam yells "Kill it!" from behind me, like it's a bug and I can just squish it or something.
Piff is in the hall. We keep his claws clipped, so the mouse looks unhurt and pissed as hell. Piff'll chase it into a corner and it'll rear up on it's little back legs and squeek at him and he'd rear up back at him. too cute.
Kendra pops out of her room and sees MOUSE and makes some squeeky noises of her own.
I yell at her to get a towel and she comes back with a washcloth.
Mouse keeps trying to hide in the shadow of my feet. Janelly made undignified noises of distress.
Kendra came back with a towel and I threw it over the mouse and pinned it to the floor while I fought Piff one-handed. Kendra put Piff away and I scooped up the mouse and threw it (and the towel) out the front door.
All in all, a sucessful and silly moment in our lives.
