I win at yardsales
May. 22nd, 2010 04:22 pm I win at yard sales.
Seriously. I don't do them often, but I went walking this morning and hit some good ones and then the MIL and I ran around a neighborhood association that was having a bunch.
For $38, I got:
23 items of children's clothing, size 18M-2T for Sami
A 1975 American Tourister weekender bag (going for $20 on etsy)
A Samsonite Silhouette II train case (going for $24 on etsy)
A turquoise blue woman's silk skirt and jacket that I plan to make a corset and Bolero jacket from
3 yards dupioni silk in a fresh pale green
A well-tarnished 6-place set of Tudor plate Oneida silverware in the Queen Bess pattern (it's going for around $5/piece on ebay but in better condition. dunno how much I can get for this, but it was free)
19 silk ties (for my grandmother who is collecting them to make a quilt from)
a sewing spool organizer.
a pair of brass candlesticks in a verdigris and ox-blood finish
