Somewhat-inverted prison!fic trope.
Jonny goes to prison for (whatever) and his cellmate is this pixie-faced altar-boy looking kid who never shuts his damn mouth. But he seems like an okay guy, offering to show Jonny around and stuff.
And Jonny's thinking it's gonna be nine kinds of hell for this guy, being in prison, and wondering what he's going to do when someone comes to make Patrick their bitch or whatever. Like--it would be incredibly stupid to make enemies on his first day, but on the other hand, can he just let bad things happen and still live with himself?
But a day goes by without any sort of confrontation, and then another. And Patrick seems to know everybody. So Jonny sort of stops feeling so protective of him and kind of wanders off when they're working in the laundry or something, and suddenly there are two big guys by him and Jonny is struck by the realization that compared to some, Jonny is less-big and kind of pretty and he's in big trouble here.
Before anything else can happen though, Patrick comes around the corner and sees what's happening and is like "Oh, you dumb shits, I told you he was mine." and whistles and everyone else on the work detail with them comes running over. Because Patrick is the guy who makes stuff happen, coordinates favors and alliances and reminds big bruiser dudes to send their mamas birthday cards before they're late.
Patrick reaches over and takes Jonny by the wrist and pulls him out of the circle of conflict and they walk off while the dastardly duo get pounded into the ground.
Jonny's all "That...was incredibly sexy" and Patrick is like "Hey, no, you don't have to put out just because I saved your ass cherry"
And Jonny shrugs and "Okay, whatever, can I fuck you instead then?"
And Patrick rolls his eyes. "You tell anybody I'm your bitch and I'll shank you, got it?"
