I like this beginning very much. You've established Jared as somebody who works hard, who's amiable and friendly, without doing the gushing/bouncing over-friendly "puppy" thing I've seen so much of.
I think the choice of physical therapy is a good one for Jensen. It would allow him to use his professional "polish" that he's learned over the years of modelling/acting-giving him a script to work with patients, so to speak.
One of the things I first wondered, when I read this chapter-and it nagged me as I worked my way through the fic-is whether the scar was deliberately inflicted by someone? It seems a little too precisely-shaped to me. Is it wrong of me to be hopeful for that? *facepalms*
