I just got home from work and am rolling up my sleeves to get back to work-hey, I take my reviewing seriously! *laughs*
I do think it's good that Jared honestly tried to work things out with Sandy first and that he's grateful Jensen didn't let things go further before he was officially single. The distance certainly didn't help, but I'm betting there were other, subtle problems that were ignored as well which were contributory; maybe that's just me. Oh, well.
I love how Jared and Jensen are becoming friends first-it's important to have a solid basis of *liking* and respect, under any attraction or love. Plus, the friends obviously like Jensen & that's a good sign; they think well enough of Jared himself you know somebody would say something if they thought there was a problem.
Another thing that I like is how Jensen is making Jared push himself in therapy. He won't let Jared hurt himself, but demands he do his best and help his healing; and Jared, in turn, strives to do so because he wants that approval. No getting away with being cute! *scolds Holly*
I really love the vision you have here of these 2. I've said before and will probably again-your Jared is such a realistic version of the "friendly puppy" that we always see. Not perfect, not hyper-to-a-fault, not dumb...just a really sweet, affectionate, sexy guy.
And Jensen! Damn. I've seen so many "Jensen is an ass" fics that really piss me off; mostly, I think, because many fans/writers don't know how to figure him out since he's shyer and less extroverted than Jared. It's like they have no idea how to deal with a "guy next door" personality. *shakes head* I love his sense of responsibility, how he's trying to build something between them to last. I'll be fascinated to see who you pick for the partner who hurt him so much.
