Random Life Stuff

Art, school, writing and life.
School:
Going great, as a whole. This semester is like all of my classes are meshing together.
Watercolor I is amazing. The paint does things I wouldn't have expected, and I've accepted the randomness of watercolor much easier than I thought I would. Definitely my favorite class. My only problem in it is that I'm too patient, too precise, and I'm only finishing half the paintings I need to each week. I'm gonna have a hell of a catch-up to do.
Drawing II is kind of frustrating. I'm not really feeling like I'm learning more than I would be just sitting and drawing for four hrs a week on my own. The only advantage has been having a live model one day. She has us make finished with charcoal a lot, but doesn't really say how to do it, so I'm disappointed with all of those. The ink drawings and pencil drawings have been good though.
AutoCAD is my bitch. :) It plays just hard enough to get that I can be all triumphant when I fuck it. The math class is nesting very nicely with it though, using what I learn in one class to help the next.
Developmental Algebra is going great, even being twice the pace of a normal math class. My brain's all stretchy and stuff, growing in so many different ways. I like the math class because it's completely non-subjective. The answer is right or wrong, and I don't have to worry if the teacher will like my style or if I should have spent more time on research.
Speech communication- boring subject matter, great teacher. He's all animated and absolutely flaming. Perfect for the subject.
writing
I don't think I've ever had so much hand-written but not typed or posted. (all page numbers are hand-written steno-book pages, about 250 words each) I've got about 30 pages of a blind-oracle!Sam, the next two chapters of the scar!verse, 4 pages of a Samuel Murphy-verse, 10 pages of the next "Today's Tom Sawyer" piece, 8 pages of a non-AU Jensen/Jeff piece, 15 pages of Jared/Jen-bot.
I've got a 13,000 word Sam/Dean seperate young AU called "A Wicked Twist of Road," with Hooker!Sam and dark-solo-hunter!Dean. I had allzugern read over it, and got some really great feedback, spent a few weeks making some major plot revisions. Then I got my husband in on it (and that's love man, when he'll read wincest for me and help me make it better writing). He's got a degree in English, with a specialization in creative writing, and he really knows the things to look for to put more emotion into a fic, or to make it clearer, sharper, better. He went over the first two pages and circled all the weak verbs and cliche phrases and places where stronger detail was needed. And I can really see how it'll make the fic better, but the idea of doing that to the whole thing is a tiny bit intimidating, and the story's ending right now isn't really an ending, so I'm waiting for it to go further before I go back and spend that much time on it.
Work
Applied for a CAD-Monkey position with a landscaping company. Had an hr and 45 min interview with the owner. They don't use AutoCAD, but some industry-specific program. He gave me a trial version to look over and stuff, and it looks really straight-forward, I'm just not sure how much time I want to put into learning it before i have a job offer.
Health
Stupid cold is settling into my chest. Fatigued and stuffy but otherwise not-so-bad. Went to the Dr today, got a script for a Zpack if it turns ugly. It's not bronchitis yet, and she gets that I've had bronchitis enough to know when I've got it. If I didn't go today, it'd have been next friday before I could, so that worked out well.
