Have you seen the movie Rollerball? Like "What if professional wrestling and roller-derby had a crack-baby that had a ball-goal scoring system and motorcycles?" Set in some vague series of third-world, possibly eastern-european countries, with implications that it's a multi-national sport. Slightly futuristic, maybe?

It ain't a good movie, but that doesn't matter.

So. 2017. Jared's 18, taking a vacation to "experiance his ancestral roots" before college, when the US economy crashes into the second great depression, and he's stranded in a foreign country with no funds, a phrase-book and the contents of his duffle bag. 2 years later, he's desperate enough to say yes when one of the team managers hires him to babysit their tempramental star. Jensen "The Hawk" Ackles.
