You have not failed in any of your fics. You just haven't attained your goals with them *yet*.

One of the most fun challenges I participated in was for the Lucius/Harry HP group I help run, where we had to write a set of 5 drabbles that were either set in 5 different locations, or during 5 different years. Me, I made mine both. Each drabble was, as you said, a story in itself; linked together, they made a greater story. That piece is one of the few things I've done that I'm really pleased with. The characterization is typical fanon cliches because I don't usually give a rat's ass about that for my own work, I'm more interested in the mechanics of making the plot do what I want and making up offbeat story lines. (Sue me! *shrugs*) But as a piece of craftsmanship, it's not bad.

I wish sometimes I could hand my stuff over to a better writer and have them re-done, like in that SPN comm where writers trade fics and do a different version of it. Can't remember the name of the comm right now. But it would be nice...I have good ideas, but fail at executing them. AND IT PISSES ME OFF! *bitchfaces*

You can't give up on your unfinished fics, just because they're being difficult!!! They're too good to abandon. You're not, right? *prepares to panic*

And on an unrelated note, how do you feel about the movie, Dead Poets Society? I recently stumbled across a few good fics and am very sad...it's such a tiny fandom...
