Our living room looks like we had a slumber party that never ended.
This is because everyone who lives in our house is sleeping there.
The central air is out, and the warranty company is replacing it (tomorrow, supposedly), but for now we've just got the window unit in the craft room and 6 fans bringing that cold air into the living room. Getting the bedrooms cold just isn't happening.
It's way too hot to go play outside.
On a seperate note, apparently Lilycat is losing control of her bladder because she pissed in my bed and slept on it. And in the hall. And under the coffee table.

Date: 2008-06-06 02:08 am (UTC)The AC isn't so bad. The craft room unit is making that room like a freezer and we're pushing the cold air through the three public rooms of the house with a multitude of fans.
Thanks for the offer though. :)

Date: 2008-06-06 02:06 am (UTC)I was thinking about pulling the window unit but I think we're good on the couches for one more night. That unit in the craft room is heavy-duty. It's like 60 degrees in there, 70 in the dining room and maybe 74 in the living room. Probably 85 or higher in the bedrooms that we've got closed off.

Date: 2008-06-06 11:15 pm (UTC)I made the mistake of cooking sausage in the kitchen once and everything we owned was sausage-y for AGES.
We were keeping different hours too, so I ended up doing a lot of activities after dark with a flash-light while Krypt slept. I also got wireless headphones so I could watch TV/listen to music without waking him up. It was in interesting time.
So sorry about Lilycat, and I apologize for not leaving FB on your latest fics (they were both awesome), I've been at a loss for words lately and when I do have them I've been having to use them elsewhere. If that makes sense.

Date: 2008-06-06 11:45 pm (UTC)Heh. Sausage.
My ex and I were in a semi-homeless situation for a while a long time ago where we shared the dining room of a house, that had been abandoned for a year, that had one tiny AC unit put back in it. Yeah, I got used to sleeping with more than one pillow on my head. Interesting, yes.
No worries on the FB. I'm sort of short on words myself. I used to reply to like every comment I got and now I just feel like I sound weird when I reply to people who comment on the fics (and most of my rl stuff). I'm trying to get over it but it's not coming quick.
Take care of yourself. I hope the new dosages of the meds are working themselves out with your system and vice versa.

Date: 2008-06-07 12:08 am (UTC)Our thing happened during the summer AND a heat wave (thus proving my theory that God hates me), and the a/c kept that one room around 80 degrees and that was all it could manage. The rest of the house was over 100 degrees, so we would dash into it to grab clothes, bathe, and run back to the cool part.

Date: 2008-06-16 02:29 am (UTC)As to Lilycat, is she doing that? It could be because she is stressed. Cats do that when scared, angry or stressed. You may want to talk to your vet. If it is just age there is a daily med for bladder control... heck valtrex for kittens :)

Date: 2008-06-16 01:16 pm (UTC)We stilllll don't have central air. The bedroom is like a foreign land now. We visit it when we need clothes. Soon we will stop putting clothes there when they're clean and will have fully migrated to the living room.
Lilycat is better now. She's all full of cancer so we thought it was pressing on her. She's old and not a good candidate for surgery so we're just trying to make her comfy until her time comes. But yeah. If the peeing starts up again we'll take her. Good suggestion.

Date: 2008-06-17 06:28 pm (UTC)Sorry about Lilycat. I have a 14+ stray that wandered into our yard last October and made himself at home. He is huge, but his heart is in seriously bad shape. The doc said, just love on him, that's all he wants...
