Nov. 6th, 2008 01:03 pmThe results of the echo-cardiogram thing came back fine. All chambers pumping well and all valves working properly.
My grandfather has correctly foretold the sex of all 7 grandkids and all 3 great-grandkids so far. He has informed me I am having a girl.
My mom is also sure that it's a girl.
It does kind of feel like that.
The proof will come with an ultrasound in about 8 weeks.

Date: 2008-11-06 10:33 pm (UTC)I worked with a woman once who said unborn babies told her what sex they were. She was so in touch with that sort of thing that she knew about pregnancies before they were announced. This was confirmed by a mutual coworker who was keeping her pregnancy secret for a few months because she'd had a miscarriage (and didn't want the public pain of sympathy if it happened again). According to Miss Fetus Whisper this little voice that was saying "I'm a boy" for weeks and weeks started declaring "I'm here, I'm here!!!" and got so annoying it finally drove her to privately inquire if Mrs. Co-worker was expecting. It was in fact a boy.

I pretty much knew the Monstrous was going to be a girl, as well. So much so that Cat and i really didn't even bother with boys names.
I never had an ultrasound, though.

Date: 2008-11-07 04:29 am (UTC)Heh. I don't like *fuss*, and i loathe the sort of....i dunno, cliche trappings of pregnancy, you know? Like fluffy nursery things and 'baby's first scrapbook' and such. Maybe i'm just a mean old woman, i dunno, but i shudder at the thought of pink blankets and velcro ribbons to stick on their poor little fuzzy heads.
And somehow, ultrasounds or whatever were all a part of that. Although, now i think of it...i'm not sure he even offered, or if he did he was like 'i don't really need to do it, do you want one?' i was all - eh, no.
:)
