Random randomness
Feb. 10th, 2009 03:40 pmKendra and I were out driving running errands today and there was a guy at a bus stop in a leather jacket that looked so much like JDM that we both turned and blinked.
My sister's in jail. If she did what they're saying she did (posession with intent to distribute) I can sort of understand because she's got 2 kids and there' no work where she is and she's been unemployed for 6 months.
Garden happy! Everything I planted so far has sprouted except the tomato seeds, and when I was at Lowes getting mulch today they had like 6 kinds of tomato plants and they were all big and healthy and happy looking so I took two home, one heavy-bearing and one early type. So far I'm thrilled with my cat-littler-bucket container garden. I've got enough weeds to pull from the lawn and flower beds without them in my veggies too.
Oh, and they had sweet basil and thai basil too so I grabbed those. Might get another one or two sweet basil varieties so I can try making pesto.
Kendra helped me move the last of the bricks in the front yard and we got half of the new flower-bed area covered with curb-find carpet. We figured there's no reason to try weeding up living sod when we can cover it and come back in a month and it'll be dead and easier. Figure we'll pull up and cut out the carpet exactly where we want to put in plants and leave the rest for now.
