I've heard that your house will never be cleaner than when you're pregnant.

I didn't really believe it.  Especially with the way I slept through the first four months.

Now?  OMG.  I'm cleaning stuff I never would have before.  Just spent the morning cleaning the rail of the back porch (where we're having the shower, BTW. April 4th.  Any of you DFW people wanna come, please let me know.  I don't have any of my family around and not so many female friends and I totally don't want to be sitting there alone with my mother-in-law.:)  Enough of the paint is not-good so I need to repaint the whole thing.

Yesterday I dusted stuff I hadn't in ages.

I think part is being off of the Lexapro.  Before, I just didn't care.  Now i care and I have this hormone thing kicking at the same time.

Like--if my husband asked me what recreational activity I'd like to do together tonight, it'd probably be something like cleaning out the baby's room closet.

Awwwww, the nesting syndrome has kicked in :-)

LOL

I was the same way - nothing was safe from my rag and cleaner. Was never ever that way again. I miss it sometimes :-)

It's just silly. :)

And some of my 'nesting' is thoughts like "Hmmm, maybe I should change out half the outlets in the house. They look kinda old.."

I think it's nesting instincts. Every once in awhile I'll get STRONG urges to reclaim my space and make it BETTER. I'll find myself cleaning everything, organizing, redecorating. I've noticed that these urges usually happen around the same time as my period when my hormones are at their wackiest.

I used to get those before I went on the Lexapro. This is the first surge since I've been off, and it's backed by the whole preggers hormone thing. Craziness. :)

Take advantage of the cleaning flu! Seriously, do it now 'cause after the baby, it'll be a while before you can pick up a rag and cleaner.

I've got eleven weeks of this left? I can't imagine how it'll be by then.

All of this is making me cringe imagining what my mother must have been like in the last month of carrying me, while she was done with work and waiting for my belated ass to appear. She was such a clean freak when I was a kid that I can barely imagine how she must have been in the thrall of baby hormones. LOL

Maybe she just got stuck in cleaning mode when she was pregnant...

Funny thing is that I"m such a tomboy that some of my "nesting" things are like--changing the light fixture in the bedroom closet and stuff.:)

That will no doubt be compensated by the disorder when the baby arrives...little toys everywhere, stuffed animals, strollers, diaper bags, etc. :D

I'm glad to see that you're adjusting to being off the meds. It's very hard to get used to being on *or* off of them, especially considering the problem it's supposed to help with doesn't go away!

Pregnancy makes you clean like a mad man!!! I find Spring gets me pretty busy too. I keep meaning to drop by the yoga book and foregtting. Have you got plans this weekend? Maybe I can pop over with it and your dvds. Also, I'd love to come to the shower. Are you registered anywhere? Do you have colors you'd like or not like to see on the baby?

I think we're plan-free for the weekend. Just give me a call anytime.

Yay, shower guest! That's awesome. I just registered at Target.

This made me smile :-)

The day my first baby was due I was down on my hands and knees grouting the new tiles in the hallway. Because for some reason the house had to be perfect. (Being on hands and knees was fine... it was getting down there and getting back up again that was the problem...)

Said babe was a week late, and I've never had such a clean and tidy house since! (Because when the cleaning urge hit with baby no. 2 I had a toddler in the house to negate the effects!)
