I'm watching Chronicles of Riddic now.  I think I saw it in theatres or something.  It looks real familiar, 15 minutes or so in.  Sami thinks the box is amazing and wants to eat it.  Karl's nose is very distinctive.

Pathfinder was better than expected.  Karl in a loincloth.  Nice action, not a horrible  Hubby liked it too.

Bourne Supremacy was great, but not enough Karl.

Doom was pretty bad.  I really liked Karl's character though, and the moral slide another character had.  The best parts of the movie were like 70 minutes in though.

Commanche Moon: (bought but not yet watched)

Lotr: TtT and RotK: Also great, also not enough Karl.

The Irrefutable Truth About Demons: Haven't seen it, Can't find it.  Is this Karl's "Devour" type movie?

Star Trek: Started this damn Urban obsession in the first place.  A fun movie with the stupidest plan for a bad guy ever.  It hurts my brain to figure that was the best that Nero could come up with.  The man is not a military genius.

The Devour category is a good bet for that one.

Oh Nero. But he waited so long for his revenge and went through time and everything, lol.

Hmm. The consensus seems to be that it's worth watching for Karl shirtless or in bondage gear or whomped. I've found it on Youtube but dunno if the whole thing is there.

Heh. Nero.

That, is a very valid point. Shirtless Karl is hard to resist.

I still have to watch Doom. A friend really likes it, but I'm pretty sure I'm just gonna be in it for the Karl, heh. Did make the mistake of picking up the unrated version...so there's no telling what *else* I'll be seeing O.o

KU in Price of Milk. I don't know if this uploaded movie file has the somewhat memorable scene of KU's ass swimming in a vat of milk. ;-)

It's like New Zealanders, on weed, doing a romantic comedy.

And yet it's entertaining!

I spent the entire film playing 'spot the bit player from LoTR!'.

I amuse myself easily.

:) I too went through a KU fest.

Chronicles of Riddick: The Director's Cut is SO MUCH better than the theatrical one. I still have no clue why the Director's Cut was not used in the first place o.0

Saw Pathfinder, and bought Doom since no one was renting it. Karl is very nice to look at in it. I'm kind of hoping they put Pathfinder on the Movie Channel again, I kind of want to re-watch it through my new KU-appreciation goggles. The last time I saw it, I watched it out of pure boredom. Better than expected though.

I ♥ him as Cupid on "Xena"

The DC is what I have, so that's cool.

Pathfinder has some interesting making-of and interviews too.

:( I actually saw Doom in theaters and really liked it.

A couple people I know did too. I felt like there was a thread of story-telling gold (or at least silver) running through a pretty dense strata of been-there, done-that. My husband walked in at around 70 minutes and I was like "It's just getting really good" when Sarge shoots the kid and all and then it went to the FPS style and they took Karl off the screen in favor of monsters and a pair of hands and I was yelling at the TV.

Ok, yes, totally valid. Nobody liked the FPS scene, and even I ffwd. But I mean, come on, BFD? AWESOME.

I will admit I watched it in bits and snatches and may have missed something in the big picture. Or maybe I was watching too hard for Karl and didn't appreciate other stuff. I usually like the rock so I don't think it was him that I didn't like.

Irrefutable Truth about Demons is actually a lot of fun, as long as you don't mind a fairly low budget, non-scary horror movie. Especially since KU is half naked, beat up and soaking wet through at least half of the movie. It's one of my favorite movies ever, but considering I own movies like Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-a-rama and Chopper Chicks in Zombietown... take that with a grain of salt. Just about everyone I have made watch it liked it though.

Price of Milk is fairly surreal and nonsensical, but fun. KU also has a supporting role in Heaven (not the one with Cate Blanchett and Giovanni Ribisi, but the one about the psychic transgender stripper. It's better than I make it sound)

and if you want cheesy horror, he's also in Ghost Ship with Julianna Margulies and Gabriel Byrne.

Heh. Non-scary is actually a selling point with me.

I like a lot of movies other people consider not-so-good most of the time. I found it on youtube but not sure how cut-up it is.

I've always had an incredible longing for Chronicle fic. just imagine how pretty it would be! *twirls the shiny for you*

There's a bit out there, and some of it's good. :)

Which reminds me, someone on the Star Trek kink meme asked for a ST crossover with Chronicles...which has me thinking.

Heh. But no. I've got a shiny shiny here. And y'all are just lucky trishabooms wrote good Bourne fic because it was this or Eomer/Legolas or some shit. :)

Damn it, Nero was a miner, not a military genius!

:-D

I did the Karl-a-thon over the course of the summer, and agree about the nose. It looks delicate, but not at the same time.

I like recognized him amongst a dozen helmeted guys on Riddic just from his nose.

It's kind of--pointy. and flare-y. Or something.

Same with me! The nose, and then the eyes. It's like "where's waldo" but with his nose. Maybe tilty is the word? Not a button nose, for sure, but... unique.

I admit, I love Doom despite it's suckiness. But Karl and Rosamund Pike had such an awesome chemistry. *___*

That was one of the bright spots, yes. Maybe I should watch it again, because I can't put my finger on what I disliked...

Heh heh. You probably disliked that it sucked. ;)
It totally sucks.
I totally made a music video for John and Samantha though and I went toally overboard and uploaded all my favorite scenes. ;)

Oh, that's awesome. Your video is great and no need to watch the whole movie again, with all the good parts there.

I could totally ship Sam/John. You know they were each other's first.

I like 'The Truth About Demons' in ways I can't bring myself to like 'Devour'. It's quirky and the Karl whump is phenomenal! I've even started a crossover fic with Supernatural.

You need the Director's cut of Riddick to fully appreciate it.

In Pathfinder I thought he looked beautiful. Doom is the same, Karl seems to make an awful lot of movies where his acting talent far exceeds the quality of the material. He says more with his eyes in Doom than the second rate script could ever convey.

He's wonderfully intense, don't you think?

From: [identity profile] ladyjanelly.livejournal.com
I saw you had a crossover but I thought I'd find the movie first.

I've got the DC of Riddick, watching it here and there with headphones while I hang out with the baby. Maybe not the best way to appreciate a film.

He really does bring a whole new level of intensity to otherwise mediocre movies. I also like the variety of movies he's chosen to be in.
