Heh. Sami is like 21 months now. Whee time flies!
Anyway. Her first fandom is the Wiggles. Because she wakes up in the morning calling for them by name.
Her first slash fandom is Cars, because she has 2 of the Lightning McQueen matchbox style cars and she has them kiss.
She knows the letters of the alphabet and we've started showing her words and sounding them out. She looks up at my laptop screen and points to the first word of a paragraph and says "Jensen!" My days of reading NC-17 fic are limited. I figure I have about 4 more months before she'll be able to read words I haven't sounded out for her.
Her new sentences are "Who's that?" and "What's that?"
I can't believe I didn't have a tag for my baby. Sheesh. I feel like a bad mom.
Oh, anybody who wants to see videos of her, they're here: http://www.youtube.com/user/ladyjanelly

Date: 2011-03-15 05:49 pm (UTC)We weren't planning on doing any early reading, but she started picking out letters before I was consciously teaching them. There were some letters on her Sesame Street videos and she started pointing them out whenever she saw them (C and M were called Cookie and Mommy's). So it seemed silly to not let her know the rest. We've been watching videos at Starfall.org whenever she wants to. She calls it "Letters." We're working on recognizing the lower case letters now, and trying to sound out more words. I'm trying to let her set the pace as much as possible.
