Life sort of ate me this month. Apologies to all those that I owe replies to.
My grandfather had a heart-attack 3 weeks ago, and passed away last Saturday. It's a strange thing and my emotions are all twisted up. He had a stroke about 15 years ago, and lost the use of his left hand (could easily have gotten it back with pt). There was little wrong with him, but he gave up on living. Was a burden to our poor grandmother for all that time. I feel like I've done my mourning a long time ago.
We drove from Dallas to western NC on Monday and Tuesday, went to the worst funeral ever on Wed. (Crazy fucking baptists, seriously, who tells the grieving family that "Hopefully Faye will join him soon." when she's alive and healthy and sitting right there???)
So anyway.
Drove back to Dallas on Friday. Planning to get work done on my Etsy store this weekend. I had a coat sell while we were gone and I'm hoping this is the beginning of the winter selling season. That would be awesome.
I got some really good fic brainstorming done over the trip. I think I've got the machinations of the Jake/Eliot/Cougar poly big-bang fic worked out.

Date: 2012-08-25 09:53 pm (UTC)I'm very excited, because if this is the beginning of winter, that's a month more selling time than I had last year. We're gonna put Sami into 5 half-days of preschool through the end of the year and see how it goes.
We took today off of writing (didn't want to put Sami at the gym's daycare for 2 hrs the first day back home), but we're planning on writing tomorrow. Your notes on that fic were very useful. I do need to write a lot more of Jake and Cougar and why they're doing what they are, and how they feel about Eliot and why, and the way it all works in the dynamic of their relationship. I've got the machinations of the bad guy now. It's not a Leverage-worthy plot with twists and turns, but it works as adequate back-drop for the relationship, I think.

It will give you a bit more time to deal with all the things on your list I'm sure - but remember to take it steadily - achievable goals mean you can always set some more, whereas unrealistic ones will just give a sense of failure *hugs*
Glad if I managed to help with your fic planning! I'm amazed if any of my incoherent rambles were useful but Yay for you getting ready to write! xx

Date: 2012-08-26 04:17 am (UTC)I paraphrased the situation at the funeral, and my mom said, "Seriously, some of those old Baptist ministers are meaner than a green-eyed snake."
Which is the kind of phrase you don't hear just anywhere!
