If I could figure out how to write a 6,000 or even 8,000 word story, my life would be so much simpler and I would have so much fewer abandoned WIPS.

I've been moving the word-count-goal on both Losers fics I'm writing, usually by the same amount I get written each week. I never get closer to the end, it feels like.  They're both at about 8000 words done. I went and outlined the things in each that I know have to happen and then revised the goals to 20,000 words each.  Really hoping that'll be enough. 

I'm writing some challenges for me on these.  A military combat scene in one and family group dynamics in the other.  I've got a pretty clear end-point for both (for now at least) and only a few road-block scenes in between that might tie me up.
