About 1/3 of the comments are me thanking and replying to people, but still. That's almost twice the kudos to comments ratio of my other fics up there.

That's really cool. I'm glad they're so nice. I've actually heard good things about them before, although I forget where.

The welcome was indeed very warm. I dunno. I like catching a piece of hard crit every now and then. It was like "I love the writing and love the feel, but why would they do it this way when that was is an option?" That I affected someone enough that they had to know what I was thinking and how to reconcile that discrepancy was great.
