Yeah, this is my dining room.  There is a dining room table. It's up in the craft room.

When it's not a studio, our dining room doubles as a dojo.  Meet Bob, the punch-dummy.  He's a scarry guy.

It's just abstract. The color theme was herbs and spices. Cinnamon and nutmeg and saffron and sage. Mmmm. Tasty art.

I'm sorry, I did not mean to use the word "just" in a pejorative sense (not that I'm getting any sensitivity from you on that. I came to the realization that it could be read as a dismissal after I posted it).

I'm not sure that Cinnamon, nutmeg, saffron and sage would make a terribly good mix on a single dish, but they're lovely in a painting.

And you're pretty quick on the response there, if you're online, why aren't you on Yahoo!?

re: Just Abstract--I do abstract because it's easy and quick. this is not an expression of my soul or a work of love. It's a pleasant way to make $900-1200 bucks for a week's worth of labor and a few months of waiting for it to sell. :)

Yeah those do look good. Are some of those repaints or just similar?

All of them are repaints, actually. much more blendy and multi-tonal than the last time I did them. Somehow my results are 100 times better with just putting them aside and not really practicing or anything.


The paint was just working for me.

Might help that i was using the more expensive kind. The red there cost $8.50 for a 2 oz tube.

I like the shading and the texture and color scheme.

The feeling they project is cool but in motion, if that makes any sense.

I have a hard time expressing myself concretely when it comes to art.

I do like your stuff, though. :)
