Major changes here, I'll probably forget something.  In no particular order

 1) Sold a house. Bought a house.  OMG. Craziness
2) Adam (our 19 year old god-son) and his GF Kendra moved in with us. Working out amazingly well.
3) Did a freelance art/building design job for a company in NC.
4) Finished one successful semester of school. Bombed a second.

Mmmmm, Fandom.

Left LotR fandom completely.
Wandered away from the BDS fandom.
Dabbled in Smallville for a tiny while; read some great fic, didn't have much to contribute.
Found SPN.  Fell in love.  It's like the old BDS fandom but HUGE!  Started writing crack fic and AUs.  Mmm, tasty.
Followed Jensen's filmography backwards to the DA fandom.  Lost of potential, so little done with it.

Fics or chapters for the year:  14.  Fics or chapters for the previous year: 41

This freaked me out so much that I had to go do some math.  Of the fics I wrote and posted this year, 5 were in the past 2 months, after I joined the "write more you miserable fucks" group.

14 fics posted = 31,000 words, give or take.
41 fics posted the previous year = 36,000 words, give or take.

But the thing is, I've got another 10,000 word piece ready to post (the rest of the "seperated-young" SPN AU), about 7,000 words on the blind-oracle-Sam fic, 1,000 of the scar-Jensen fic written but not typed.

I think I'm pretty satisfied with my productivity, if I look at it like that.

Anyway, it was a great year.  Looking forward to another just as good.

PS--Rio! Thanks for the card. It was the cute.

Oh, SPN is my new!shiny fandom. Can't seem to get enough of the boys. It's like when SV was in its first two seasons and Clark and Lex were in love. *sigh*

I'm loving SPN. It's so...butch. I love fandoms where men are men and they fuck and fight and don't talk about the shit they should.

Oh god, yes. I just hope it stays that way, especially Dean.

And when I'm in the mood for something a little more mellow, there's the RPS. Mmm, tasty.

Hm. So I have this fic, I wrote the first part waaaay back in August-- http://ladyjanelly.livejournal.com/39945.html#cutid1

Since then I've added like 8,500 more words. I'd like a concrit/beta sorta thing if you happen to be interested.

I'll certainly have a read! I've bookmarked for tomorrow, as it is late here and I'm on my way to bed. Will let you know how it reads though :-)

*comforts you with happy!Michael icon*

I had so many SV bunnies, I just couldn't get any of them to be fics. Also, I think these tough boys from a broken home who grew up broke and nomadic are easier for me to identify with than Lex and Clark.

You know what? I completely understand that. The appeal of those rougher edged guys becomes larger. After a while, there's just not much you can say about a character, no matter how you juggle time and space. *G*

I think what I liked so much about SV was the archetypes in play. Lex's struggle to be good or evil, Clark's dealing with his powers. The mythos in play are so intriguing. There's the meteor shower and the first meeting at the bridge. Still, so much has been done alread, everything felt like just reshuffling elements. Maybe I should read a little less fic when I first get into a fandom.

I think when WIP_amnesty week comes around again I'll post all of the bits and pieces I wrote for SV.

Does this mean you're definitely not finishing On Watt Street :o( ?

Probably not, no. Just my plans for that fic and my self-motivation on writing it were on two different levels. I had such HUGE plot thoughts that it was hard to get into the mind-set to buckle down and write it. If that makes sense. I've still got my notes, if I ever get teh SV bunny again.
