Dream--Fabric

I dreamed I was driving, on one of those places where there's a breakdown lane and then a wall, and some guy ran me off the side of the road with his car. so I'm sitting there, trying to get my heart back in my chest, and I look in front of my car, and there's this mountain of cardboard boxes in front of me, with this hidious brown and black fabric spilling out the top of it, like some awful couch has been skinned.

But it's fabric.  So I get out of my car to investigate, and after I move the yucky fabric, there's this pink brocade that's impossibly soft, so I pile that over to the side.  And then there's this shimmery gold, quilted silk.  And I gotta have that.  Big pieces too, like 3-4 yards.

And then I dig a little deeper, and there's this fucking roll of olive-green embroidered silk.  Like 30 yards.  Like 60 lbs of fabric.  I started carting fabric to the car.

Dream-sam called me at some point, and I told him what I'd found.  He said I could take it home, if I'd do him one favor--but he never told me what it was, and we got disconnected and I got distracted by the shiny, silky beautiful fabric again.

I woke up this morning and almost forgot the dream, until I went out to put my crap in the car, and alas, it was empty.

This means you'll replace it, right? :)

I can't wait til that fabric sale at the drapery place on my birthday comes around again.

Always a shame when things in dreams don't spill over into real life...though I'm guessing you are glad you didn't actually get run off the road..even though it means no cool fabric.

Well my car didn't actually get hit in the dream, I was just scared and pulled off so far I may as well stop and sit for a second. Hmm. So I think I'd trade a scare for the fabric.

:D Your dream is made of win.

So, did you get my extremely squeeful email? I feel like the email was almost longer than the chapter.
But it's just because the chapter was totally ♥
The boy definitely needs some love.

Yes. The e-mail was fabulous. I gotta do some rewriting and then post it. Thank you so much, I really appreciate it.

I realize that I'm more likely to damage Jensen when I write than Jared, and that I usually cause more pain to Sam than Dean. Is that strange?

I probably don't say it enough, but thank you so terribly much for your help. That was exactly what I was looking for.

*blushes terribly*

Darling, you're more than welcomed. Actually, I have to thank you for letting me help with this beautiful and touching story. The description that you just sent me left me near tears.

You can surely count on me any time you want. I'm in love with this.

It strikes me as symbolic somehow.

'tis puzzling. I think it shows that I'm an optimist, that every bad thing has a good thing that makes it worth it somehow.

I'm not sure what else it means, but now I'm in the interior design supply room, drooling over the samples. (and checking e-mail on the computer). I loves fabric.

Maybe the dream has something to do with the fact that I redid my school schedule for next semester and traded in a 3 credit-hour class on building systems (that was MW 6-9) for a 3 credit-hour class on textiles for interiors (that's W 6-9).

I used to work in a huge, 10-story building full of interior design showrooms, and when the samples for all the upholstery stores changed, they'd throw out these piles of fabric. The samples are like 18X22 inches. I came home once, with the back seat of my car filled from the floorboards to the top of the seats.

I loves fabric.

Yeah, maybe it means you have fabric mojo! I'm beginning to suspect everyone has a specific mojo. I've got parking mojo. :D
