I love Faith! She was the best. These ladies *all* look tough enough to actually get the job done. And wow! Sensible clothes/shoes and hair pulled back! Imagine!

Faith! I always thought she was pretty cool! Oh, and the second Alien movie--the marine--I forget her name but she was pretty cool. Goodness knows she hit Mr. Roxy's kink-o-meter. He's all about the big butch girls, but we stopped teasing him about that...*koff*

And shoving a weapon in some random actress' hand and saying "look guys, she's tough!" doesn't cut it for me.

I have ALWAYS had a thing for "Sarah Connors". I never gave a damn about Linda Hamilton, lol, but even before I knew I liked the softer side of Sears, I had a thing for Sarah Connors.

Oh god. I've had this plot bunny for like a year where John and Sarah met like--a few years before T2 and their boys ran over the hills of the desert like wild things, Dean with the .45 in case of rattle snakes. Sam and Dean called John Connor JC because his mom thought he was the second coming and because it'd be confusing otherwise. That guy that JC mentions in T2 that was really cool and taught him cars? John W.

But Sarah's a little nuts, even if she's right about the apocalypse and John W knew that if they stuck around long enough, eventually something would happen where she'd risk his kids to save hers and he couldn't let that happen.

And I've never been able to figure out how to make it come together.

I just--can't find an angle. Like do I start at the beginning and just tell it? Or--Does Sam run into JC at Stanford (JC working construction or something on campus) and tell the story in flashback or what?

I just--can't make the pieces fit to make a cohesive fic. Something has to change but I dunno what. I've got a scene in mind where Sam runs across JC and they go out for drinks and stumble out of the bar at 3am and some guy tries to rob them. Sam blocks his stab to the side and JC takes a step behind him and rabbit-punches him 6 times in the kidneys and then Sam and JC wander off again, swerving all over the sidewalk.

I totally fail for not being able to find the snippet/short I'm thinking of, but someone did write a 'John runs into Sarah Connor while buying more ammo in the middle-of-nowhere-desert and they're both generally badass'. Maybe someone at sn_crossovers or something could pinpoint it. I know I read it, but I can't find where I might have saved it, so I sort of suck for just hinting at this.

Definitely. Like--I think an important element is that quiet confidence like Ellen has on the show. Start as a character and then later demonstrate her areas of competence.

I can only hope that the realism-defying antics of the new Supernatural blond will be explained with something that allows them to be okay. Maybe she's an escapee from Hell? Maybe it's the blade, not the girl? Anything but a plain human... or the grandchild of a Gypsy Witch and his Demonic Lover...

I just--can't see any way to pull that out of the crapper at this point. They started with a badass and will have to make her be a character, and it's hard to make that make sense. Even with Sam on the show, they established him as a character before he had that fight with Dean in the living room.
