Our old-lady-cat had a stroke or seizure or something today.
She was acting weird, growling at people, and then she laid down and stared into space (with the laptop a few inches from her face) for a few minutes, and when she was done, she wasn't using her right front paw.
Took her to the emergency vet, and they said it was a stroke or seizure or something. So specific. She was acting drugged--wouldn't flinch at a finger coming towards her eye, didn't fuss when they took her temp. They gave her a pill and shot and sent her home.
She sometimes doesnt recognize people, and she walked into a wall. She's hiding under the bed, so we're giving her time to adjust or whatever. Taking her to her regular vet first thing in the morning.

She's a little better, but still kind of weird. I appreciate the support.

Date: 2007-12-12 06:22 am (UTC)My parents both being 'hospital' people helped, since they never got too worked up when somebody got hurt, just dealt with it.
It's never fun, though.

Date: 2007-12-12 04:56 am (UTC)I learned my lesson with the last sick cat. Untill her quality of life takes a hard dip, we won't take her back to the vet.
