Cat update
Dec. 15th, 2007 12:41 pmLilyCat is doing much better after her stroke thing. We did kitty-therapy for the week, touching that paw and massaging it and teasing it. She went from not seeming to feel it at all (no claw-extension, no muscle twitches at all) to feeling it (pulling away from the elbow but not using the paw) to moving the foot itself (walking with less of a limp, and curling her toes when she cleans it.
So. I think she's gonna be okay. She's stilly lazier than usual. She got used to being carried around real quick. :) When she wants down off the couch she'll stand on the edge and give me 'that look.' Kendra carries her to the food dish and then to the litter box in the mornings, but I think she could walk if she needed to.
Piffy has been soooo jealous. We've been trying to give him more attention to make up for it.
Last night, he fell asleep on the blanket on my legs mid-play. He was biting the blanket and conked out with his jaws chewing on it. It was too cute.
He's figuring out how to open most of the doors in the house. They're mostly the lever-types instead of knobs, and he'll make a flying leap at the lever. Mostly when we're asleep and he's been evicted from the bedroom for noise-making. He hasn't quite opened a door yet, but it's just a matter of time.

Date: 2007-12-20 02:52 am (UTC)I wish I knew how/where the mice were getting in though...I don't think we had them last year (we had a hyper-agressive 10 month old kitten then too).

Date: 2007-12-20 03:08 am (UTC)I doubt you had them last year-either one of the cats would have gotten one, or you'd have heard rustlings or seen droppings around.
All the male cats I've had have been very affectionate by nature anyways, but once I had them neutered, they became even more so (while still being good hunters...thanks for the LIVE frog, Smokey, now take it AWAY, please thank you good boy...!!! *gibbers*)
I keep telling myself with each pet that this is going to be the last one-they're good company but it does limit my being able to go places without arranging care. But then...I lose one pet and end up getting another, in spite of myself. Only the one now, and the most I've had is four. At that time, my roomie had 3 cats, as well; when he was cooking, they'd all line up in the kitchen and stare...he'd say that "it looks like the streets of Rome in here!" *snickers*
