Movie review: There Will be Blood

 A good movie, but not very enjoyable. If that makes sense.


I think the problem was I didn't like any of the characters they explored and they didn't explore the characters I might have liked.

There's a limit to how much grim I can take as a viewer without any joy to go with it.  

DDL was an amazing actor in it and everything was so painfully real.

Still, not a pleasurable experiance.

Except at the very beginning when he sets dynamite and then isn't strong enough to pull his bucket of tools out of the shaft.

I so wanted a caption on that:

NOOO! MAH BUKIT! I BLOWED IT UP!

I totally agree! DDL was astounding, but the movie was way too long and had a really disturbing, really dark ending. That preacher guy was pretty dang bizarre, too!
