So.  The great "cats use toilet" plan of 2009 has been declared a failure.  Blue got it.  Piffy refused to play.

Ordered a Cat-genie today.  We're thinking of putting a small hole in the wall between a hall closet and our bathroom for the plumbing and running a drop-cord for the electricity.

Anybody have one of these?  Any advice?

Oh, and the kitty that did use the toilet probably would have reverted back to the litter as soon as it was available. They like the scratching.

I went to the website and watched the video. I don't think I like my cats that much. *grin* But that is some impressive technology.

As for the reverting to litter, that's a good point. Though I sorta got the idea that my Youdere was enjoying lording his toilet use over the others. He looked very smug when he was perched up there. He'd give a couple of token, no-claw scrapes at the edge of the toilet seat and then saunter off all smug. Of course, for a cat - smug is the defalt setting.

As soon as Blue had a litter box again he only tried perching once more and then he was done with it.

The cat-genie is all about how much I love me, not them. :) No buckets of litter to carry in or carry out. No touching or smelling the yucky.

After the initial investment, it looks like it'll be the same cost as just buying litter.

Doesn't Blue realize that he's giving up his chance to be the tallest, coolest kitty on the block? Whatever! :>

I'd have to build a tiny addition on, as there is nowhere to put the thing in my vintage-1911 two-family flat. The bathroom is about 6' x 5'. There's barely room for a trash can, and there's no closet anywhere nearby. The joys of an older home, yeah?
