I saw that one of the SPN/J2 reccing groups was having an end-of-year self-rec event.  So I went through my fics for 2009 and realized I have nothing worth reccing.  Very sad.

Today I learned: Never underestimate the strength and speed of a determined baby. Sami was on my lap and bored while i checked e-mail. I looked down and she had pulled the space-key off my laptop. This is sort of a problem.

Oh I love that! My baby sister pulls the keys off my laptop all the time... it's like:
'Where's the R?'
'Oh, there it is'

It's amazing and frightening what babies can do right under your nose!!! I learned a horrible lesson with a pack of cigarettes and my beloved child that scarred me for life!

When my niece was 18mo old she grabbed a cooking knife by the blade. It was on the table while I was making dinner. I'd thought it was well out of her reach; but she'd shoved a chair a bit and somehow crawled up and over. Oh God she scared me so badly. I managed to get the blade away from her without her fisting it or getting any kind of cut at all. I'm forever thankful for that. She's 14 now and I guess my fear made an impression, because she wouldn't use a knife or scissors until she was 12; she felt she was responsible enough then (with supervision, by her request).

So yeah, babies and the unexpected *whew*
