I'm surprised they mentioned slash. LOL
I can't believe that published authors are advised by their attorneys to not read fan fic lest the fan fic authors sue the published authors for writing about their own characters who they created in the first place!
Something is fucked up about that, man.

And dude. People getting contracts to publish their work. That's amazing. Seriously though, there's books all the time for tv shows and comics and stuff. Mostly as young adult, but still. there's a SPN paperback out right now. That's kinda cool.
