Anyways.

Piff, who has never vomited at all in the entire time we've had him, puked at least once every hour from noon yesterday until sometime after we went to bed.

He looked pathetic last night and this morning. Droopy and small-eyed and quiet.

Took him to the vet this morning, dropped him off since we didn't have an appointment. They called at 1, saying their power was out and they couldn't take care of him. But he hadn't been puking since he got there.

Picked Piff up, took him to another branch. They didn't find anything wrong and since he hadn't puked since 8 AM, they said to give him a day and watch him.

Anyways, he's home now and wanting food (that he can't have til tomorrow) and being a sweet little pest (but still kinda quiet).

You'd be quiet too if you'd been puking and now nobody would take pity and feed you. :)

He probably had a hairball or maybe ate something that wasn't so good for him.

I have two inside cats and four outside and then the four kittens that will migrate outside when they're big enough to take on the puppy. One of them hacks a day from something stupid they've done. But you love them anyway.

Where did that name come from? Course hello two of mine are Alfalfa and Buckwheat.

For the last kitten we had (which was a girl, who is now living with her cat-daddy in Minnesota), I got outvoted on the name--I wanted Epiphany, Piff for short. So this kitten, who is a boy, got stuck with the leftover name. But when he was little, and sooo sooo sick, he'd make these little "Piff!" sneezes. So it kinda fits him.

He's just never puked ever. It freaked us out. He's indoor. Maybe it's from eating dust bunnies.

Or plants or string. The kids named the mama cat Reeces as in the candy and they named one of her first kittens Socks so I told them they couldn't name anymore until they found origional ones. I named the other one Diablo because he was black and always hissed. He's really sweet just skittish. We have another black one inside named Gabriel but the kittens are Cillian, Keegan, Callan, and Kyleigh.

Heh. I'd have taken their cat-naming priveleges away too.

My ex found a black cat and named her Lilith. She was a bitch. I ended up with her when I dumped him and renamed her LilyCat and she was much sweeter.

Piff is adorable even though he looked so sad there. All my cats are rescued cats or in the case of the mama cat she just showed up and hung around for a week decided we were cool and fed her and stayed then she brought up one kitten who was about seven week (Socks) and then the next day brought up Diablo.

She of course got preg. again and of all things I left my car windows opened and she had the next litter in my seat the drivers one at that. She had five, four made it.

Kyleigh was licking the picture of Piff. She's long hair gray. Keegan is pale gray short hair striped, Cillian is Tabby long hair and so soft and Callan is short hair yellow striped. Go figure the variety but they are all hell spawn but I love them.

Lily is like 13 now and having old-lady problems, but she looks just like Piff except no white poof on her chest.

Strays rock.

Piff was so sick when we found him that he couldn't drink from a bowl (his head was too heavy and he'd fall in) and his sinuses were so infected and clogged up that he couldn't smell food. I gave him food and water in a syringe for like 3 days before he rediscovered the dish. His entire little face was covered with snot, and his paws from wiping his nose with them.

The only parts of him I felt I could pet without hurting him were his head and paws. He's great about having his claws clipped now if I do it. On the way home from the vet, Kendra was holding him on his back like a baby and I was driving and holding his back paw and he was compltely content.

Patches (calico) was my first one she's since passed away, she was at the church roaming around dirty she had rode in on a truck tire well I think.

Buckwheat and Alfalfa are both gray they were left at the vets office my sister used to work at and she brought them up for us to choose one. Yeah that went well we kept both.

Gabriel was about four weeks old and I spotted his little feet under a car when I dropped my youngest off at day care. We had to crawl under the hood of the car to get him out of the engine.

Reeces is a tortise calico she's gorgeous, and I've already told you about all the kittens.

In between those we found three that someone had threw out of a car on the overpass. One didn't have an eye. I'm not sure he ever had one from the looks of it his face was a little lopsided. A lady where my husband used to work was going to pick one and kept all three cause she couldn't bear to seperate them.

My parents always had strays and me and my sister seem to have done the same. My brother lives in a busy section of town so he finds them and takes them to my parents house. He's a fireman they had to pull one out of a drain not to long ago but so far none in a tree. :)

Here's Piff when we first found him. If you look down the pic from his nose there's like this shape poking out. Yeah, that's his breast-bone. He was almost dead. Poor little guy.

He's like almost 9 lb now, and not even a year old. His feet are huge now and I think he'll be a big kitty.

Maybe it's a hairball? (Or mouse parts...) Smokey sometimes vomits a few times before he can get his out and can be droopy til he does.

I hope Piff's all right.

Or dust bunnies, maybe. A day sitting in the dark at the vet's seems to have helped him somehow. :)

He's walking around the house sniffing out the places he barfed and trying to 'cover' them by scratching. It's adorable. And kinda gross. If the other cat barfs, he'll try to cover her's too.

They really are, arent they.

Oh hey, what did you think of the latest homeless? Has it jumped the shark for you?

Piff ate some of the not-bland cat food by accident (my accident not his) this morning. Hopefully he won't puke all day.

Food poisoning-the gift that keeps on giving!

Of course I loved the homeless-I'll comment on that over in the chapter. Teusday was my 40th birthday and I've been having celebrations, but I'll be glued back to the computer any time now. Have to go eat some hot wings first and then buy (bigger) jeans.

40. Awesome. :)

I'm about 3 yrs and 3 months awya from that myself. Congrats on the party parties.

Didn't mean to be a comment-grubbing hoor. Or actually I did I just couldn't stop myself. :)

I rarely stop myself from doing what I want. It's part of what's made me the fun and interesting person I am today! *grins maniacally*

You can ask me for comments any time. The problem is shutting me up. Poor impulse control, see above comment for reference.

my eldest cat had that last year and it was worrying to us because he was throwing up so much he threw up blood. Turned out he had a blockage and needed two enemas, which cracked us up because he has a thing with his ass...he loves having it spanked AND he enjoys having his temp taken a bit too much *giggles* But after that, he was fine...........if stinky from the gas build-up and release. *giggles*

Heh. The other cat liked being spanked before she got so old.

I have never ever heard of a cat with an anal fetish. Wow.

The vet didn't feel any blockage and couldn't even get a stool sample (he was all empty).

ahha...and yes, my cat is...well let's just say that if he was human, he'd be the totally flaming gay with nipple piercings and a cock ring on all the time and a fetish for the paddle. *giggles*

That's funny.

I've got a cat that loves cigarette smoke (or residu on peoples hands) and coffee. We say she's the reincarnation of a diner waitress. Grumpy thing, but she really just wants to be loved on.

In the last couple of weeks, Phouka threw up twice. He's never done it in the nearly 4 years that I've had him. He has the constitution of an ox. He didn't and doesn't seem sick and it was mostly just undigested food. And he's been eating like a bear getting fat for hibernation. I need to keep an eye on him.

I hope Piff is feeling perkier tomorrow.

He's seeming like himself more and eating. He threw up in the night so, so we dunno how he's really doing. Kendra's with him and I'll see how he's been doing when I get home from school.

Poor Phouka.

Piff was so--mortified that he barfed.

Poor little thing! Hoepful whatever it was is out of his system now!

I got a russian blue crossed with a persian, named Fanbelt (he sounded like a slipping fanbelt when we brought him home form the shelter 'cause he was so happy to have someone love him! :D). He's got the long russian blue hair and consequently he pukes ALL the time with hair balls, evil stuff. He looks kind of fat when he's dry, but wet and the poor thing looks like skin and bone! Kitty's, they are little devils, but very cute too!

Awww. Fanbelt. That's awesome.

Piff never puked before. He was so mortified.

He barfed overnight. I'll see how he's doing when I get home from school.

Poor Kitty

So sorry to hear about your sick kitty. My cat, who lives with my parents now, gets into hacking fits. He will yak 6 or 7 times and then be okay, but he has always been that way. I do know, that when we lived in Tucson, and everyone spayed all the time for poisonous critters, he would vomit more right around spray days. Could Piff have smelled or eaten something unusual?

My other cat does that, but we'd never seen Piff barf, so we freaked out.

He was such a sickly kitten that we ended up being a little overprotective.

Hee! When he was tiny and sick he made these piffy little sneezes. Poor little thing.

He's big and robust now but we remember when he wasn't and it makes us overprotective parents.

He still has sinus issues...runny nose and sneezing more than the other cat ever did. Dude, he got huge. He's like 8.5 lbs and not even a year old yet. He's all athletic and muscular now.

Wow! He did get big! Funny how he was so small and helpless. You guys really nurtured him :-)

He's so funny. He loves to be held like a baby--either sprawling over my shoulder or cradled in Kendra's arms. On the way home from the vet she held him like a baby and I held his back foot and he was happy.

When he was sick and skinny, the only part of him I felt ike I could touch without hurting him was his head and his feet, so he likes his feet being petted and held.

He's all about being carried around the house. He'll make more of a fuss about being held than he will for food. I kinda hope he doesnt get too much bigger. :)
