Okay. So. He wrote an original fic and submitted it and was a semi-finalist in the Writers of the Future contest. Which means he gets a personalized critique and bragging rights. (there were only 18 finalists and semi-finalists, so he was up there somewhere).


Also. He had the bright idea of looking online and finding out how to hack our own DVD player to let it play other regions. Now we can order from Amazon UK and Kendra can order DVDs from Japan.

And there was much rejoicing.
Yay!

I hate how they have that function on DVD players. The way I see it is if I'm legally paying for it I should be able to watch it no matter where it comes from.

YES, i'm very happy about our DVD player! (it lets me see my skinny Asian boys in full HQ action -hugs dvd player- Oh how i loved it!!) Sam is truly amazing ne? i think we already rejoiced before he started watching his show :3 JANELLIEY-OOO-W!!!

That's great news, really well done to your husband!

I love hacking DVD players to make them multi region, even did it to my portable. It gives me a small sense of satisfaction and outsmarting those that would try to make me buy two or spend a fortune on one already coded to multi region.

Yeah, ours was pretty cheap and it was pretty easy to find out what the code was to switch regions.
